USER INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: If your steam system has a thermostatic control, please read the following in conjunction with pages 4/5 or 6/7 as appropriate. First switch on the isolator outside the bathroom to provide mains power to the generator. To start the 25 minute cycle push the on/off button inside the steam room once. If you are using essences to add a pleasant aroma to the steam, place a few drops in the groove on top of the steam outlet - the heat of the steam will evaporate the essence.

Steam will be produced within a few minutes. The time taken to reach a comfortable bathing temperature, depending on the power of the generator and room size, will vary from 15 minutes upwards.

The automatic steam cycle is set at approximately 25 minutes after which time the steam will turn off. If you wish to stop the steam before this, press the on/off button to turn off the generator.

If more steam is required after the timer has stopped you must press the on/off button twice - once to turn the generator off and the second time to start a new timer cycle.

When you have finished steam bathing ensure that you press the on/off button once to turn off the generator. You should also turn off the mains isolator outside the bathroom.

The LED indicator will light while the 25 minute steam cycle is running. This LED is built in to the face of the in-shower control but is otherwise separate as shown on page 2.
Any steam remaining when you have finished bathing will condense away on operating the shower.

"IN-SHOWER" THERMOSTATIC CONTROL

The "In-Shower" Digital Temperature Controller is designed to maintain the temperature within your steam shower at a level which you choose. For safety the controller has been factory restricted so that the maximum setting possible is 50o C and the minimum setting is 20o C. To check the bathing temperature which the controller has been set at:-

  1. Turn on the generator - the display should now show the temperature within the shower and the timer LED will light indicating that the 25 minute cycle is running.

  2. Press either of the buttons to display the set temperature. After 5 seconds the display will return to the current room temperature.

To change the bathing temperature:-

  1. Repeat the process above and, while the set temperature is displayed, press either the arrow up to increase the temperature, or the arrow down to reduce it - one press per degree.

  2. Stop pressing when the required temperature is reached.

  3. After 5 seconds this temperature will automatically be stored in the controller's memory.

The controller will now revert to display the temperature within the shower. The new temperature setting will be stored within the controller even when the generator is turned off.

NOTE: The set temperature must be higher than the temperature within the shower enclosure for the generator to operate.

EXTERNAL THERMOSTATIC CONTROL WITH CLOCK AND TIMER

SETTING THE CONTROL FOR THE FIRST TIME
The control has been pre-set in the factory but you can check or change the settings as follows:

Step 1:
Press the on/off button in the steam room to turn the generator on. The control is activated and the digital clock will change to display the ambient temperature in the steam room in o C. Press the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons together - the red "POWER ON" indicator will be lit and the display will show the time. Press the "MODE" button between each step to enter each of the following functions. Use the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons to adjust the display.

Step 2:
the display will show "00 : cl" (clock), you can now adjust the current time in hours

Step 3:
the display will show "cl : 00", adjust the current time in minutes

Step 4:
the display will show "00 : st" (start time) you can now set the hour time you wish the generator to start up to 24 hours ahead

Step 5:
the display will show "st : 00", set the minute time you wish the generator to start

Step 6:
the display will show "rt : 00" (run-time), set the time in minutes (maximum 59) which you wish the generator to run for. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO USE THE PRE-SET FACILITY LEAVE THIS SET TO "00"

Step 7:
this display will show "20o C", you can adjust the figure "20" to the temperature you want in the steam room

Step 8:
Pressing the "Mode" button once more will save these settings in memory.

TURNING THE GENERATOR ON FOR IMMEDIATE USE
Press the on/off button in the steam room. The generator will raise the temperature in the steam room to the pre-set level (Step 7 above) and then maintain that temperature. When you have finished bathing press the button again to turn the generator off. In order to prevent the generator being accidentally left on the running time is restricted to 25 minutes. If you wish to continue longer press the on/off button in the steam room twice to restart the 25 minutes cycle.

USING THE PRE-SET FACILITY
Follow the steps 1 to 8 above pressing the "MODE" button repeatedly to allow you to skip over functions you do not wish to use. When you reach Steps 4/5 set the time you want the generator to turn on - this should allow enough time for the steam room to reach bathing temperature by the time you want to use it. The green "TIMER SET" indicator will light to confirm that the generator is pre-set. During the heat up period the green indicator will flash to show the generator is operating. The "run-time" (Step 6) will commence when the steam room has reached temperature.
NOTE: REMEMBER TO CLOSE THE STEAM ROOM DOOR AFTER PRE-SETTING THE GENERATOR.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

  1. Steam generator will not work and neon light switch on generator is not lit.

    • Check mains isolator switch is on
    • Check circuit breaker, if this will not reset consult installer

  2. Steam generator will not work and neon light on generator is lit.

    • Check tap on water supply is on and that water filter in generator water feed inlet is clean
    • Press air button in steam room to start timer cycle

  3. LED timer light and/or Digital Readout not lit.

    • Check jack plug and 3 pin DIN plug are pushed fully home on generator service panel.
    • Check DIN plug is correctly located with guide at the bottom and 3 pins at top.

  4. LED timer light and Digital Readout lit but no steam.

    • Check temperature setting is higher than ambient temperature in steam room

  5. Steam stops before set temperature has been reached.

    • Timer cycle has finished - Red LED will be off. Press air button TWICE to restart cycle.

  6. Atmosphere in steam room becomes "clear" after some minutes and there is no discernible delivery of steam although generator is running.

    • Ventilation problem - the steam room is too well sealed. Remove some seals from shower door or fit adjustable vent shutter at high level.

Please note the following:

  1. Steam delivery may pause briefly while generator takes on water.

  2. A small amount of water may be expelled from the steam head during the steam cycle due to natural condensation.

  3. The thermostatic control operates on 1o differential. If the setting is 40°C the steam will stop immediately on reaching this temperature and restart at 38°C.

These features are part of the usual operation of the generator and do not indicate any fault.
